Police rescues 15 from illegal healing centre in Lagos


The police have rescued fifteen victims from an illegal spiritual healing centre at the Isheri Osun area of Ijegun, Lagos State.

The centre, called ”Blessings of Goodness Healing Church” is said to habour about twenty victims, some of whom have been in chains since 2014.

Confirming the development, Lagos Police spokesperson, Bala Elkana, said the chained victims were barely able to walk and had to be removed by law enforcement personnel.

The raid followed a tip-off by the National President of the Eagle Crime Awareness and Prevention Initiative, a non-governmental organisation, Samuel Adam.

Some of the victims were said to have spent five years in the detention camp. The victims are between ages 19 and 50 and some of them were brought by their families.

Eleven persons, including the pastor, one Joseph Ojo have been arrested by the Police.
