Police frees 300 chained persons from Kaduna torture house


The Kaduna state Police command says it has rescued no fewer than Three hundred persons from a torture house in the Rigasa district of, Igabi Local Government Area of the State.

The victims were rescued following a raid at a home allegedly used as an Islamic Centre.

Speaking to journalists, the man in charge of the home claimed that parents brought their children there for rehabilitation.

He further alleged that the children with chains on their legs and scars of injuries on their bodies were stubborn hence the reason  for the treatment.

He also denied reports that the victims were sexually molested.

Meanwhile, the Kaduna State commissioner of police, Ali Janga told journalists that preliminary investigation reveals that the place is neither a rehabilitation centre nor an Islamic school.

He assured that the command will get to the root of the matter to ascertain the real motive behind the centre.

The rescued children have been evacuated from the premises to the Kaduna Police command headquarters for proper profiling,  while an investigation continues on the mode of operations of the suspects and their motive for setting up the centre.
