Police deny arresting killers of Fasoranti’s daughter

The Nigerian police have denied arresting the killers of the Funke Olakunrin, daughter of the leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere.

Reuben Fasoranti’s daughter was allegedly killed by bandits on Ore-Sagamu Expressway in July 2019, and on Monday, National Secretary of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin stated that the alleged killers were arrested by the men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Ondo State Police Command.

But speaking to newsmen on Tuesday,  the Ondo Police spokesperson, Tee-Leo Ikoro denied the arrest.

He said, “I have seen the report too and I don’t know where they saw it but it is not from us.”

“I spoke with the officer in charge of Special Anti-Robbery Squad in the state, he told me he’s not aware of anything like that.

“So, the entire command is not aware of this and no arrest has been made.”
