Mauricio Pochettino could be named as Barcelona’s next manager as the Spanish League giants are reportedly planning to hire him.
The former Tottenham Hotspur boss has been out of job since November after he was dismissed by the club.
The Catalans have not been convincing in all competitions under Ernesto Valverde whose contract expires at the end of the ongoing season.
His side gave up their 2-1 lead to crash out of the Spanish Super Cup championship after losing 3-2 to Atletico Madrid at the semifinal stage in Saudi Arabia.
The defeat has now forced the Blaugrana to be on the lookout for a new manager and the Argentine-born tactician is the main target, according to reports.
Reports also suggest that Barca legend Xavi Hernandez is also in the race for the club’s top job after admitting he would be interested in the summer.
Former Everton and Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman has also been contacted by the club over his availability for the job.
However, Koeman would not be able to take the job due to the clause in his contract with Holland which will not allow him to take up the job until after Euro 2020 championship.
