PDP crisis deepens as Rivers state governor blasts party Chairman

Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, has described the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu as ungrateful and arrogant after he was assisted to get the seat of the national chairmanship of the party.

Speaking on Thursday at the inauguration of roads in Ikwerre LGA of the state, Wike added that the PDP chairman may cause the party to lose the 2023 presidential election.

Wike said if Ayu remains arrogant and refuses to resign, it may cost the PDP the 2023 presidential election.

Wike’s allies are demanding that the PDP national chairman should step down — as a precondition for resolving the rift with Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate.
