An investigative committee set up by the Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha has recommended the sacking of all the vice chancellors, reactors and principal officers of the institutions.
Ihedioha had inaugurated a seven-man committee to investigate the status of the newly established tertiary institutions by the immediate past governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha.
The Chairman of the committee, Jude Njoku, while briefing newsmen in Owerri, said the properties of the institutions were in the hands of the dons, and should be recovered by the state government.
Njoku, who is a former VC of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, also recommended the termination of appointment of all the vice chancellors, rectors, principal officers and members of governing councils of the newly established tertiary and that all properties belonging to the institutions be recovered.
He also added that the governing councils of the Imo State College of Education, Ihitte Uboma and Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo, should be formally dissolved and reconstituted.
