Jihadists have attacked a Niger military camp near the border with Mali with artillery and mortars, killing more than 60 people.
Tuesday’s attack was the deadliest on Niger’s military since the armed forces began fighting Islamist militants in 2015.
According to sources, “The terrorists bombarded the camp with shelling and mortars.
They added that explosions from ammunition and fuel were the cause of the heavy toll.”
It is, however, unclear which group is responsible for the deadly assault, but fingers are pointing to the Boko Haram sect.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the terrorist attack Expressing Nigeria’s solidarity with the government and people of Niger Republic.
