Otedola bridge tanker explosion Update


A Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) and a container truck were caught up in the inferno when the tanker fell inward Berger on Saturday evening.


The crash occurred on Otedola bridge Lagos State, involving 3 vehicles; A tanker carrying diesel, a truck carrying goods and a saloon car.

– The explosion occurred inside the ditch when descending into Otedola Bridge.

The unfortunate occurrence affected a total of 11 passengers but no casualty has been recorded. The 2 vehicles fell off the bridge while the truck conveying the diesel product was cut up in an inferno on top of the bridge thereby affecting traffic flow outward Lagos State.

However, FRSC operatives, Police, NSCDC, and other agencies have been adequately deployed to control traffic while men of the Federal Fire Service are on ground to quench the burning fire.

The Corps wishes to inform the public, particularly commuters on that route to continue there journey without panic as the traffic flow outward Lagos section which was initially halted to avoid further damages has now been opened as the situation is under control.

The Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi has directed the deployment of Personnel to be on ground so as to ensure total safety until the situation is brought to normalcy.
