Osun Governorship Election: INEC uploads 35.6% of polling unit results

Fresh results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election are continuing to emerge, with the Independent National Electoral Commission steadily uploading polling unit results to its Result Viewing Portal.

As of 5:18 p.m., 1,340 out of the 3,763 expected polling unit results had been uploaded, representing 35.61 per cent of the total.

The figure is a sharp increase from the 402 results, or 10.68 per cent, recorded about an hour earlier.

The latest upload, timestamped 5:18:40 p.m., came from Polling Unit 29/02/04/004 in Ife North Local Government Area, as collation continues across the state’s 30 local government areas.

The IReV platform allows voters, election observers and other stakeholders to monitor polling unit results as they are uploaded, in line with INEC’s efforts to promote transparency in the electoral process.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party is seeking re-election against the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, the African Democratic Congress candidate, Najeem Salaam, and other contenders.

INEC is expected to continue uploading results as collation progresses at the ward and local government levels.
