Ize-Iyamu, Edo state governorship aspirant for the September 19 Edo State Governorship Election, has denied reports that he has been endorsed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole, National leader Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and President Muhammadu Buhari.
After picking the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, Ize-Iyamu clarified that contrary to speculations, he has not met with them.
He further explained that he has received endorsement only from seven other intending aspirants that stepped down for him.
The former candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2016 Edo State Governorship poll also expressed his support for the decision of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) to adopt direct primaries.
He also opined that he had attempted to mediate the conflict between Governor Obaseki and the Oshiomhole, without success.
