Onuche Ogbelu Included in Esperance Squad for FIFA Club World Cup

Former Flying Eagles midfielder Onuche Ogbelu has been included in Esperance’s 25-man squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

The 22-year-old has become an important player for the Tunisian side since joining from Nasarawa United of the Nigerian Premier Football League in September 2023.

Ogbelu recently signed a new two-year contract with the Blood and Gold.

He represented Nigeria at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Egypt and the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina.

Ogbelu is a graduate of Fosla Academy, founded by former Nigeria Football Federation president Sani Lulu.

Esperance will kick off their Club World Cup campaign against Brazil’s Flamengo on Tuesday, June 17. Chelsea and Los Angeles FC are also in their group.
