Omicron COVID 19 variant: cases now found in 23 countries – W.H.O

The World Health Organisation (WHO) says cases of the new Omicron variant have been reported in at least 23 countries in five of the six WHO regions. WHO Director-General, Tedros Ghebreyesus, disclosed on Wednesday in Geneva, saying that the number of cases was expected to grow. He said experts were learning more about the variant, but added that there’s still more to learn about its effect on transmission, severity of disease, and the effectiveness of tests, and vaccines.
