Okada Riders, Task Force officials clash in Ikeja

Commercial motorcyclists, otherwise called “Okada” riders in the early hours on Wednesday, went on a rampage along Lagos Abeokuta-Expressway, by Ikeja along the area, barricading the road with a bonfire.

The motorcyclist also chased away the Task Force officials who were on the road to resume duties.

Videos circulating online shows scores of riders chasing the security operatives while the task force officers retreated to their operational vehicles which zoomed off immediately.

It is the second day of the fight between the riders and the law enforcement officials.

On Tuesday, the task force officers reportedly seized over 70 motorcycles around Second Rainbow, FESTAC Town over infraction of traffic laws, which resulted in a clash between the law enforcement officials and the okada riders.

Okada-commercial, operators, should be forced to relocate to outskirts, as motorcycles-commercial, does not conform with human-beings transportation. Okada, can not be accepted as regular commercial mean of transportation. Those operators of Okada, should be sent back to being taylors, mechanic, and other trades-operators instead of endangering and committing armed robbery crimes
