Ogun Assembly impeaches Deputy Speaker

The Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Oludare Kadiri has been impeached.

Kadiri’s impeachment was announced by Speaker of the Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, after the ad-hoc Committee set up by the House found him guilty over an alleged public disturbance and gross misconduct.

Nineteen lawmakers out of 26 members of the assembly reportedly supported the motion for his impeachment after the committee presented the report.

Kadiri was arrested by the Ogun State Police Command on February 26 for an alleged assault after he reportedly led suspected hoodlums to invade the residence of the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, in Oru-Ijebu, Ijebu North Local Government Area of the state during the revalidation exercise of the All Progressives Congress in the state.
