The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has announced Wednesday, September 30, 2026, as the commencement date for the Batch C Stream One orientation course, ending weeks of anticipation for thousands of prospective corps members preparing for national service.
The three-week orientation exercise will take place simultaneously across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with activities scheduled to run until Tuesday, October 20.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, NYSC spokesperson Caroline Embu said prospective corps members are expected to report to their designated orientation camps between Wednesday, September 30 and Friday, October 2 for registration.
The nationwide swearing-in ceremony and administration of the oath of allegiance will also take place on Friday, October 2.
As the mobilisation gets underway, NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has wished prospective corps members and camp officials safe journeys to their various destinations.
The Director-General, however, urged those travelling to their camps to make personal safety a priority, particularly while making arrangements for transportation.
He advised prospective corps members to avoid night journeys and use only recognised motor parks and authorised transport services when travelling to their assigned orientation camps.
The NYSC says the precaution is intended to reduce exposure to avoidable risks and ensure that prospective corps members arrive safely as the 2026 Batch C Stream One orientation exercise begins nationwide.
