NRC suspends train services on Lagos, Abuja, kano and Ajaokuta routes over insecurity


The Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the suspension of train service operations on the Lagos to Kano and Ajaokuta routes due to fear of terrorist attacks.

The NRC Managing Director, Fidet Okhiria, who confirmed the suspension clarified that the corporation has not stopped train services on Warri-Itakpe route but rather they will not be stopping at the Ajaokuta station.

Reacting to the development, the minister of Transportation, Muazu Sambo explained that the suspension is for the benefit of Nigerians due to the imminent security threats.
