NPFL operations: Private investors running football – Olaniran

Policemen numbering almost 20 have taken over the office of the League Management Company LMC in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Ismaila Abubakar, had last week announced the withdrawal of the government’s recognition of the LMC.

He had explained that the decision was taken in view of the several unpleasant incidents regarding the management of the football league.

The government also directed the Nigeria Football Federation NFF to set up an Interim Management Committee IMC to run the league pending the time the clubs will run it themselves.

To speak more on this, Jide Olaniran, sports analyst joins me now. It’s good to have you.
