Novak Djokovic beat Roger Federer to defend Wimbledon title

Novak Djokovic saved two match points to retain his Wimbledon title in a five-set Centre Court classic with Roger Federer.

Djokovic won 7-6, 1-6, 7-6, 4-6, 13-12.

As the clock ticked to four hours 57 minutes, Federer hit a ball high to hand the Serb victory.

This means the world number one has won 16 Grand Slams: and four of the last five.

After winning his fifth Wimbledon title, Djokovic described the experience as “quite unreal”
