Nigerian MP decries extortion, corruption in Ecowas covid-19 scrutiny


A Nigerian Parliamentarian has condemned the unprecedented spate of corrupt practices while scrutinizing the COVID-19 status of travelers at entry points.

The Parliamentarian, Chukwuemeka Umeoji expressed the concern at the ongoing Extra-Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Parliament in Lome, Togo.

Umeoji described the high level of extortion and corruption in the ECOWAS Sub region as a threat to foreign investment and the spirit of ECOWAS which involves free movement of goods and services.
