Nigerian beauty queen shot dead in the US

A former Nigerian beauty queen and doctorate student Najeebat Sule has been shot dead while sitting in her car in front of her family’s home in Philadelphia, US.

According to reports, Najeebat was killed shortly before 6pm on March 12, 2021 just steps away from her residence in the 8800 block of Frankford Avenue.

Three weeks after the tragic incident, it is said that the Police is yet to make any arrest as well as see any motive behind the beauty queen’s murder.

One of Najeebat’s friends who saw her a night before she was killed says there is no reason for anybody to want to kill the 24 year old as she is easy going and never gets into trouble.

She explained that she and Najeebat were together a night before her death, eating and watching Netflix.

According to eye-witness, Najeebat was sitting in her grey Toyota Corolla, exchanging text messages with Magaji, when an unidentified man walked up to the vehicle with a gun drawn and shot her several times.

Her father, Adewale Sule, who heard the gunfire says he saw the suspect fire the last of the shots at his daughter.

Najeebat was thereafter rushed to the Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later.

The ex-beauty queen is survived by her parent and two sisters who have gone into hiding since the incident happened for the fear of their own lives.
