Nigeria to witness a rise in cases of infectious diseases, public health expert warns

Nigeria is used to seasonal flooding, but this year has been significantly worse than usual.

While more than 600 people have died in the worst flooding the country has seen in a decade, about 1.3 million people have been displaced, and more than 200,000 homes destroyed.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian meteo-rolo-gical agency has warned that the flooding could continue until the end of November, with the country also set to witness a rise in infectious diseases.
