The surge in COVID-19 infections has consistently been on the rise in Nigeria, as the country recorded 670 new cases on Monday.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC, the new cases were logged in 10 states and the federal capital territory FCT.
The latest data shows that Lagos topped the chart with 277 cases followed by Kaduna and the FCT with 199 and 120 cases respectively.
Others are Kwara (20), Abia (14), Rivers (11), Gombe (9), Katsina (9), Bauchi (6), Edo (3), Cross River (2).
Six persons were confirmed dead from COVID-19 complications raising the country’s fatality rate to 3,045.
While the fatality toll increased, the NCDC noted that 828 people were discharged after they recovered from the infection raising the country’s recovering cases to 216,180.
