Nigeria records seven more deaths, 637 new Covid-19 infections


Nigeria on Wednesday recorded 637 covid 19 infections, raising the country’s case load to 188,880.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, the cases were reported from 18 states.
Lagos led the toll with 322 infections, followed by Rivers and Edo with 70 and 54 cases respectively.

Others are Delta – 34, Akwa Ibom – 31, Kwara – 31, FCT – 29, Ekiti – 17, Ogun – 14, Osun – 10, Kebbi – eight, Cross River – five, Plateau – three, Taraba – three, Kaduna – two, Bayelsa – two, Benue – one, Enugu – one, and Kano – one.

States with zero cases reported are: Gombe, Kano, Nasarawa, Oyo, Sokoto, and Zamfara.

Of the confirmed cases, 169,382 people have been discharged while 2,288 others have died from complications relating to the disease.

Also, the NCDC disclosed that 7 persons died of COVID 19 related complications, bringing the country’s fatality toll to 2,288.
Meanwhile, a total of 169,382 have recovered since the first index case was reported in February 2020.
