The Nigerian Government has confirmed the second death from coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

This was announced by the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, at a press briefing in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

This is coming one week after the country recorded its first death from the disease.

The first case was a 67-year-old male who returned home following medical treatment in the UK.

The NCDC had reported that the first case had underlying medical conditions- multiple myeloma and diabetes and was undergoing chemotherapy.
