Nigeria records 838 new COVID 19 cases, total infection tally now 84,414


Nigeria has recorded seven additional deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the death tally to 1,254.

This was confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, via its verified Twitter handle on Sunday night.

According to the public health agency, 838 new cases of COVID 19 was recorded, bringing the total caseload to 84,414.

Of the over 84,000 infections, 71,034 cases have been discharged and 1,254 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Meanwhile, the NCDC says that the 838 new cases are reported from 16 states, FCT leading with 297, followed by Lagos and Plateau with 253 and 82 cases respectively.

Others are: Kaduna (57), Katsina (32), Nasarawa (31), Kano (25), Gombe (24), Oyo (8), Rivers (8), Zamfara (7), Ogun (4), Bauchi (4), Edo (4), Anambra (1) and Sokoto (1).
