Nigeria records 574 new COVID 19 cases, infection tally now 146,928


Nigeria recorded its lowest daily COVID 19 infections on Monday since the beginning of the second wave in December 2020 with 574 new cases.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, with the 574 new cases, a total of 146,928 people have been infected with the virus. Kwara had the highest daily cases with 98 new infections, while Lagos and Edo Sates recorded 81 and 59 cases respectively.

Others are; Ondo (44), FCT (41), Kano (34), Ogun (33), Kaduna (29), Osun (28), Enugu (23), Rivers (18), Delta (16), Akwa Ibom (15), Bauchi (12), Imo (10), Borno (8), Niger (8), Kebbi (7), Nasarawa (5) Gombe (3) and Ekiti (2).

Meanwhile, the public health agency reported 8 fatalities, raising te country’s death tally to 1,761.

In total, data from the NCDC indicates that 123,009 have been discharged across isolation centers and hospitals in the country.
