Nigeria records 460 infections in 14 states as one die of COVID 19 complications


In the last 24 hours, 460 people have tested positive for COVID 19 in Nigeria. The latest positive cases brings the country’s infection tally to 191,805.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, the new infections were reported in 13 states and the FCT.

Rivers topped the COVID-19 infection chart with 164 new cases, followed by Lagos and Edo with 139 and 61 cases respectively.

Other states include FCT (37), Bayelsa (20), Oyo (14), Plateau (7), Ogun (6), Anambra (4), Benue (4), Enugu (2), Cross River (1), and Kaduna (1).

The NCDC said 209 people were discharged on Monday after recovering from the infection.

With the new figure, a total of 178,492 patients have so far recovered from COVID-19 in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, one person died of the infection on Monday, bringing the death toll in the country to 2,455
