Nigeria records 40 new COVID 19 cases as infection tally rises to 166,019


The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 40 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 166,019.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Sunday.

According to the public health agency, the 40 cases were reported from 7 states. Lagos leads with 29 cases, followed by Abia and Ogun with 3 cases each.

Others are; Kano-2, Kaduna-1, Plateau-1, Rivers-1.

Meanwhile, no new death was recorded, leaving the nation’s death tally at 2,067.
