Nigeria records 345 fresh cases of COVID 19, total infection tally now 68,303


The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, says Nigeria has recorded 343 new cases of COVID 19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 68,303 infections.

Of the over 68,000 infections, 64,291 persons have been discharged across isolation centers in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory Nigeria.

The public health agency further revealed on its official website that two new deaths were recorded, bringing the total death tally to 1,179.

The 343 new cases were reported from 14 states, with FCT leading with 123 cases, followed by Lagos and Kaduna with 106 and 72 cases respectively.

The NCDC said “The 343 new cases are reported from 14 states- FCT (123) Lagos (106) Kaduna (72) Nasarawa (14) Rivers(5), Bauchi (4), Imo (4), Ogun (4), Ekiti (3) Edo (2), Oyo (2), Plateau (2) Akwa Ibom (1) and Kano (1)”
