Nigeria records 133 new COVID-19 infections


The total coronavirus infections in Nigeria has risen to 61,440 cases after 133 new cases were recorded on Sunday.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control’s (NCDC), the new infections were reported from nine states.

Lagos has the highest number of infections with 90 new cases, followed by Rivers (13), FCT and Kaduna with eight cases respectively.

Of the total number of infections, 56,611 infected persons have recovered and have been discharged across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

However, the death toll from the virus increased to 1,125 after two new deaths were recorded on Sunday.
