Nigeria Passes 100,000 COVID 19 infection mark

Nigeria has reached another COVID 19 Infection milestone as 1,024 people tested positive on 10th January 2021.

According to the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the new figure raised the country’s total cases to 100,087.

This is coming 11 months after the country recorded its index COVID 19 case on February 27, 2020.

Data from the NCDC also confirms that the over 100, 000 infections in the country were reported from 16 states, Lagos leading with 653 cases followed by Plateau and Benue with 63 and 48.

Others are; Zamfara (45), FCT (42), Rivers (27), Ondo (26), Adamawa (26), Kaduna (22), Edo (18), Ogun (16), Imo (12), Kano (9), Yobe (6), Ekiti (5), Jigawa (4) and Osun (2).

Meanwhile, 8 deaths were recorded on Sunday, bringing the fatality figure to 1,358. Active cases are at 18,699 while discharged persons are at 80,030.
