Nigeria Labour Congress launches 40th publication to capture its historical struggle


As part of activities to mark its 40th year anniversary, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has launched a book which captures historical landmarks on the struggle of the movement.

Giving an insight to the content of the book, the NLC President,, Ayuba Wabba, explained that the book elaborates a brief history of the Congress and why certain actions were taken and the motives behind them.

Also speaking, the pioneer President of the NLC, Hassan Sunmonu lamented the protracted industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities in Nigeria ASUU and called on the government to prioritise education by addressing its impasse with ASUU.

On his part, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige disclosed that efforts are ongoing by the federal government to review the 2019 National Minimum Wage currently pegged at N30, 000.
