Nigeria Eyes Good Outing At Global Handball Tourney

As Nigeria’s U-18 and U-20 male handball teams prepare for the 2022 International Handball Federation Trophy for Africa Zone 3 in Ivory Coast, head coaches Emeka Nnamani and Fidelis Obi have expressed confidence in their respective teams.

The IHF Trophy is scheduled to hold from November 21 to 27 and both teams are undergoing intensive training programmes at the Rowe Park Sports Centre in Yaba, Lagos.

Several of the players invited for the national team duties were involved in the  just-concluded Prudent Energy Handball Premier League.

Speaking in an interview, Nnamani, the U-18 head coach, said, “The camp has resumed and the boys are doing very well ahead of the tournament.

“They are responding well to training and are highly motivated. I want to believe that with the preparations and the support from the Nigeria Handball Federation, the team will go far in the tournament.”

On his part, Obi said the team’s target was to make it to the global level.

“We have seven days to prepare and we’ve been able to work with the players at our disposal and manage them very well.
