Nigeria At 60: Lagos to charge arrested protesters to court


Security operatives have arrested eight peaceful protesters of the Coalition for Revolution (CORE) group in Lagos.

The Lagos State Police Command broke off several protests planned to take place across the state on Thursday as the country marks its 60th Independence Day celebration.

Confirming the arrest to TV360Nigeria, Achike Chude, Vice President of the Joint Action Front(JAF) said 21 other protesters are still being held at the Alausa police station.

Achike said the police plans to take the protesters to court on Friday on a yet to be disclosed charge.
