Neglected tropical diseases: Lagos state commences intervention for the treatment of schistosomiasis


As part of measures to eliminate Neglected Tropical Diseases, non governmental organization, Mission to Save the Helpless, in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Health, and the Lagos State Ministry of Health has commenced Mass Administration of Medicines to eliminate shuh·stow·suh·mai·uh·suhs and other NTDs in the state.

Speaking at the kickoff event for the project on Wednesday in Lagos, the permanent secretary Lagos State ministry of health emphasized the need to tackle the disease as there could be further complications especially in children.

According to authorities, the intervention targets 398,933 school-age children between the ages of 5-14, and will cover nine Local Government Areas across the state.
