Mountain flood in central China kills 12


12 have died with one person still missing after a flash flood caused by heavy downpour rainfall hit a scenic area in Central China’s Hubei province.

Local authorities confirmed that the accident happened around 6:40 p.m. on Sunday in Duobi Gorge, Hefeng county.

According to the rescue headquarters, 61 people have been rescued so far.

The identities of the victims have been preliminarily confirmed as tourists from outside the region.
