Mediators call for talks to resolve crisis in Sudan

As the political crises in Sudan persists, mediators have called on stateholders to hold reconciliatory talks on Wednesday.

Ethiopian Prime Minister, Ambassador Mahmoud Dirir, Ethiopian representative, says both the Transitional Military Council and the opposition needs to resolve the crisis to save the soul of their nation.

Dirir added that even though both sides had agreed to a framework presented by the African Union, they remained in dispute over who should lead the country into elections.

Negotiations broke down shortly before the military broke up the mass sit-in outside their headquarters a month ago, with the loss of more than 100 lives.

Demonstrations resumed on Sunday when tens of thousands again took to the streets of the capital, Khartoum, and other towns and cities across Sudan.
