Manchester City’s preparation for the new season has been disrupted as two key players of the club have tested positive for the coronavirus.
The club in a statement on their official website identified the affected players as Aymeric Laporte and Riyad Mahrez.
It adds that the duo is currently observing a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine. Neither is displaying symptoms of the virus.
Man City’s 2020/2021 season opener will hold on September 21, against Wolves.
