The bye-election to fill the vacant Lagos East Senatorial Seat and the Kosofe Constituency 2 in the Lagos House of Assembly witness high voter apathy.
The election which was monitored in areas like Ketu, Agility, Owode Onirin, Ikorodu and some parts of Epe though peaceful but with low turn out.
Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Babatunde Gbadamosi while speaking with journalists after voting in Ikorodu expressed confidence in the exercise and urged INEC to be impartial.
All Progressive Congress (APC) leader in Lagos East Abike Dabiri-Erewa who also express surprise with the low turn out advice electorates to always exercise their franchise.
The Lagos East Senate seat became vacant following the death of Bayo Osinowo and Tunde Braimoh who repesents Kosofe Constituency 2 in Lagos Assembly.
The bye-election for the Senate seat is keenly contested by APC’s Tokunbo Abiru and PDP’s Babatunde Gbadamosi.
