LBA shortlist four coaches, players each for November NPFL awards


Nigeria’s League Bloggers Awards (LBA) has shortlisted four coaches and players each, for its Coach and Player of the Month awards for November 2019.

Previous winners, Abdul Maikaba of Plateau United and Lobi Stars’ Gbenga Ogunbote were nominated for the Coach of the month award.

Also, Enyimba’s Usman Abdallah was listed, while Caleb Esu of debutants, Akwa Starlets, got his first-ever nomination.

Coach Maikaba led Plateau United to an unbeaten run in the month under review and accumulated 13 points to make the list.

Despite earning eight points in four matches, Akwa Starlets’ Esu earned his nomination for ensuring his newly-promoted side remained on top.

For the Player of the Month Award, the nominees are Ibrahim Mustapha from Plateau United, Daniel Jackson from Wikki Tourist, Enyimba’s Austin Oladapo and Isaac George from Akwa Starlets.

The four nominees for the race have each scored three goals.

Jackson and Oladapo scored a brace each at home against Delta Force and Nasarawa United as well as one goal away, respectively, in consecutive matches, to earn their places in the list.

The winners of both categories will be announced on Tuesday, December 17, 2019.
