Following series of criticism, Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, has withdrawn the appointment of Festus Adedayo, as his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.

Adedayo’s withdrewal was announced in a statement issued by the Special Assistant to the Senate President on Media and Publicity, Mohammed Isa.

“The office of the President of the Senate has reviewed the appointment of Mr Festus Adedayo as Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the President of the Senate and decided to rescind its decision on the appointment, and wishes Mr Adebayo the best in his future endeavours”.

Earlier in the day, some members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, had staged a protest at the National Assembly urging the Senate President to terminate the appointment of the new SA over claims that he does not believe in the next level agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari.
