The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has deployed additional mobile policemen to correctional centres in the state.
Odumosu disclosed this when he received the new Controller of Correctional Service for Lagos, Francis Adebisi, and his entourage at the Police Command headquarters, Ikeja.
This comes after the attack on the Owerri Correctional Centre in Imo State where over 1,884 inmates were set free by gunmen on Monday.
The Imo State Police Command was also attacked on the same day by gunmen who set several vehicles ablaze.
Details of the meeting was shared on Twitter by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Wednesday.
