Lagos Assembly sets up panel to probe Ambode

The Lagos State House of Assembly has set up a committee to probe the purchase of 820 buses for public transportation by the administration of immediate past Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

Lawmakers at the state assembly reached the decision during plenary on Tuesday.

The committee will be chaired by a lawmaker, Fatai Mojeed.

The development is coming less than a week after the Economic and Financial crimes Crimes Commission, EFCC announced that it is investigating the former governor for fraud.

Ambode has however denied any wrong doing insisting that his administration ran the affairs of the state in a transparent manner.
