The Federal High Court has announced that its divisions in Port Harcourt, Lagos and Abuja will remain open as it begins its annual long vacation for the year.
In a circular signed by the Chief Registrar, Federal High Court Lagos, Emmanuel Gako, the 2019 long vacation will commence on July 8 and end on September 13, 2019, while normal court activities will resume on September 16.
It however stressed that litigants are at liberty to approach the court divisions in Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt during the vacation to settle any issues.
According to the circular, the Abuja division will cater to cases from the Federal Capital Territory, North Central, North Western, and the North Eastern parts of the country, while the Lagos division would cater to cases from the South West, and the Port Harcourt division would cater to cases from the South-South and South East.
However, only cases of extreme urgency will be entertained by the vacation judges during the period.
