Kuje prison attack: Security expert describes attack as National embarrassment


The Federal Government has declared wanted all members of Boko Haram who escaped from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Kuje, Abuja.

The federal government also uploaded the data of the terrorists and other criminals to the International Criminal Police Organisation database.

The Spokesman, Nigeria Correctional Service, Umar Abubakar, who confirmed this on Thursday, disclosed that the names, pictures and other data of the inmates have been circulated to other security agencies.

The service also urged citizens to report to any law enforcement agency if they see any of these people, or have useful information which may lead to their recapture.

Meanwhile reactions have continued to trail the Kuje prison attack which led to the escape of more than 800 escapees, including 69 members of Boko Haram terrorist group.

Speaking earlier on TV360’s current affairs programme, Deji 360, Mike Ejiofor, Former Director, Department of State Services, DSS described the attack as a national embarrassment.

Ejiofor added that the lack of close circuit Tv portrays a failure of government in the area of curtailing insecurity in Nigeria.
