Kogi lifts lockdown in Kabba-Bunu LG, insist state is Covid-19 free

Barely 72 hours after it imposed a lockdown in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, the Kogi state government has a made a U-turn completely lifting the restriction, which was initially put in place over suspected cases of coronavirus.

Governor Yahaya Bello who made the announcement on Friday said the decision became necessary after the result of all the samples taken and subjected to tests by the health workers in the local government came out negative.

He insisted that Kogi remains a COVID-19-free state.

The governors’ stance, however, contradicts that of the Nigeria Centre for Disease control which reports that three COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Kogi state.
