The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has approved 160 as the minimum cut-off mark for 2019/2020 admission into tertiary institutions in the country.
This decision was reached during the 19th policy meeting on admissions to tertiary institutions in Nigeria on Tuesday in Gbongan, Osun State.
The meeting had in attendance Vice Chancellors of universities, Rectors of Polytechnics and Provost of Colleges of Education.
For admission into private universities, 140 was approved as the minimum UTME score while for Colleges of Education, 100 and above was approved.
According to JAMB registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, 120 is the cut-off mark for public polytechnics and 110 for private polytechnics for admission seekers.
Oloyede also announced that the deadline for admission into public universities is December 19 and February 15, 2020 for private universities.
