ISWAP kills two soldiers, one policeman in fresh Borno attack

Two soldiers and a mobile policeman have been killed in a fresh attack on a military formation by Islamic State of West African Province ISWAP terrorists in Molai, on the outskirts of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

According to military sources, the terrorists launched the attack in several gun trucks on Monday evening around 6pm in an attempt to overrun the military formation.

However, troops of the Nigerian military alongside the air component of the operation Hadin Kai repelled the attacks.

The sources explained that the terrorists engaged troops in gun battle for an hour before air and land reinforcement repelled the attackers who were forced to retreat.

This attack is coming less than 24 hours after the Multinational Joint Task Force confirmed that it killed more than 100 fighters including 10 top commanders of ISWAP at the Lake Chad Basin Region.
