In preparation for the 2023 general elections in the country, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has confirmed that it will print about 187 million ballot papers for the polls.
This was made known by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye on Friday.
Giving a brief at a Roundtable with Bureau Chiefs/Editors in Abuja, Okoye said 93.5 million ballot papers will be used on February 25, 2023, for the presidential election.
He added that the remaining 93.5 million ballot papers will be used for run-off of the presidential election in absence of a clear winner.
According to INEC, the Presidential and National Assembly elections will hold on the 25th of February while the Governorship and state assembly elections will hold on the 12th of March 2023.
The leading contestants for the presidential election are Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party.
