INEC, NCoS discuss modalities for inmates’ voting ahead 2023 General Election


The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) is seeking an extension of voting rights to inmates across the various correctional facilities in the country.

Assistant Comptroller General of the Service, Daniel Odharo who made the request during a visit to the Headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in Abuja says such privilege would amount to the inmates exercising their civic responsibilities as Nigerians.

In response, INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu reiterated the commission’s commitment towards inclusivity including the rights of inmates to vote during elections.
